About the Maker:
Christine the owner, designer and maker behind Dear Survivor started her business in San Diego with a focus on one of a kind, hand-made, high quality pieces that also had a mission.
Dear survivor gives a portion of every sale to Generate Hope, a San Diego based non-profit that is on the front lines of combating sex trafficking. Since starting her company in 2015, Dear Survivor has donated over $20,000 to further the the work that Generate Hope does.
Dear Survivor earrings are made with upcycled leather scraps from Los Angeles companies that would otherwise end up in landfills. Additionally any scraps that are created from the production of her upcycled earrings are donated to local art teachers to teach and encourage kids to reuse materials (a twice used model!). To help fill the large demand for their beautiful items, Dear Survivor partners with ethical production partners Refugee Artisan Initiative, a non-profit in Seattle that "connects refugee women who have a history of artisanship in their home countries, with designers".
